September Edition of Oak Park Overtures Newsletter

Dear Sisters, I hope everyone has had a restful and relaxing summer filled with family, fun and music! I am very excited to see all of you at our September meeting. We have much to celebrate this year! We made it through 2020! It’s convention year! We are celebrating our 75th anniversary! I can’t wait to get the year off to a wonderful start. Your 75th Anniversary Committee has been doing exceptional work all summer long on our October celebration. This will be virtual and AMAZING!!! They have some very special updates for our chapter at the meeting that you will not want to miss!! I have received a great deal of correspondence from the National Executive Board, including, Mary Frances Bushong, National Vice President Alumnae Chapters and Tracey Wygal Withrow, National Vice President Ritual and Fraternity Education. Based on their recommendations and the State of Illinois’ renewed mask mandate for all individuals regardless of vaccination status, your Executive Board has decided to hold the September meeting on Zoom. There will be no in person meeting on September 12th. We felt this was the safest way to have the ability to see and connect with as many of our chapter members as possible. We are hoping that our November meeting will be in person, however, we will have to evaluate things on a month by month basis. Don’t forget: for the 2021-2022 calendar year, our social hour will be at 2:00pm and the meeting/musical performance will begin at 2:30pm. This will be our format for meetings throughout the year regardless of in person or online meetings. I’m looking forward to seeing all of your beautiful faces on September 12th! Love and Roses, Beth Lopez Oak Park Alumnae Chapter President
NEXT MEETING VIA ZOOM Sunday, September 12th, 2:00 pm Featuring Elisa Billey Becker singing 'Elisa's Choice', a lively mix of her favorites. RSVP Here

2021-2022 SAI Oak Park Programs

Dear Oak Park Sisters,

Thank you to those who have already signed up to help with programs. For other members we invite you to sign up to be a home hostess for one of our meetings this coming year. Also needed are 2 co-hostesses per meeting who help the home hostess supply the reception food. And finally, please sign up and offer to create a special musical program (performance or PowerPoint/lecture/presentation …)

We meet the 2nd Sunday of the month at 2 pm. Programs will begin at 2:30 pm. In general, the programs last c.30 minutes or less.

Please send me an email reply which contains the date and what you are offering to do along with your full name, address (if you are offering your home), email address, and phone number. I will get back to you as soon as possible to discuss and confirm the specifics with you.

Thank you so much for helping us make a wonderful 75th Anniversary year of programs! Feel free to contact me to discuss any thoughts or questions you may have about these meetings.
